South Korean Culture On The Rise, Princeton Next

Since the 1990s, there has been a rise in interest in South Korean entertainment and culture, and now, researchers are the World Association of Hallyu Studies (WAHS) are more determined than ever to figure out the cause of that surge.

"South Korea has a long history, and our culture is filled with tradition. I think that our culture has something special and unique to offer those willing to learn and listen," said Fox's Wan-Mo Kang, who was recently appointed as regional president of the U.S. East Branch of WAHS. "The key is to think globally, but act locally."

As regional president, Kang will be tasked with providing news and research on Hallyu Studies in the eastern U.S. as well as organizing activities such as conferences and workshops.
