Seasoned IP Litigator Joins Mayer Brown New York Office

October 10, 2007 - Mayer Brown, a leading

international law firm, announced today that Robert D. Gilbert has joined the

firm's Intellectual Property Practice in New York.† Mr. Gilbert, 52, is a

seasoned trial lawyer who has tried more than 20 cases to jury verdicts. His

intellectual property litigation practice focuses on trademark and patent

infringement matters as well as copyright and trade secret litigation and

software licensing disputes.

Mr. Gilbert has won numerous court victories,

including injunctions in seven states on behalf of manufacturers, retailers,

and a prominent national association.† One such trademark victory opened a

national market for a retail chain.† In addition, on behalf of several computer

software companies, he vigorously contested lawsuits and arbitrations

concerning copyright infringement and licensing issues.
