Buchalter Nemer Litigator Holly Fujie Elected President Of The California State Bar

Holly Fujie, a Buchalter Nemer Shareholder, was elected on the first ballot.

July 14, 2008 Los Angeles. Holly J. Fujie, a Shareholder of the Los Angeles-based law firm, Buchalter Nemer, was elected to become the 84th President of the California State Bar. Ms. Fujie, who was elected by the Bar Association's Board of Governors on the first ballot, currently holds the position of Vice President. She has been a Governor of the State Bar, representing District 7 (Los Angeles County) since 2005.

A longtime equal opportunity and pro bono advocate, Ms. Fujie also serves on the Board of Governors of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Board of Directors of Bet Tzedek, and the Advisory Board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles. Ms. Fujie has provided pro bono legal services to Public Counsel and The Alliance for Children's Rights, and was awarded the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Distinguished Service Award in 2003. She is a frequent speaker on issues of diversity in the legal profession and has been involved in organizations devoted to diversity issues throughout her career.
