Effective January 4, Fox Rothschild added Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly's 82 attorneys to its roster through a merger with the 129-year-old Minneapolis firm.

The move follows a national trend of law firm consolidation and could be an indication of what is to come in the Minneapolis market.

"We treated this as a business imperative that eventually we wanted to increase our scale and increase our offerings and bolster our depth," said Brad Keil, Oppenheimer's managing partner, who will serve as Fox's Minneapolis office managing partner. "We were patient about it and we waited until we got the right deal."
