New ERISA Rules On Retirement Plan Blackout Periods
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act, enacted on July 30, 2002 (the "Act") requires each administrator of an "individual account" plan under ERISA to provide advance notice to plan participants and beneficiaries (collectively, "participants") of any "blackout" period.
